Parenthood
|

County Board of Commissioners' meeting begins at 6:45 PM. Anyone may attend.
While picketing continues outside the building, those inside at the meeting can
speak against the funding of Planned Parenthood. |
|
Participation is Urgent!: It is vital
that we make our voices heard and stop the Washtenaw County Board of
Commissioners from funding Planned Parenthood in Washtenaw County. Two years ago
the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners gave Planned Parenthood $60,000 of
Your Tax-Payer Money. Planned Parenthood runs one of the biggest abortion
clinics in Ann Arbor! We also need as many people as possible to attend the
Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners meeting itself. If you are a resident of
Washtenaw County your presence at the meeting will carry even more clout. |
|
Please be advised that one of the
commissioners, Conan Smith, who represents a part of Ann Arbor, is married to
the former executive director of the Michigan Abortion Rights Action League,
Rebekah Warren. Warren is currently a state rep from Ann Arbor who is running
for a state senate seat next year. Also, Conan's mother, Rep. Alma Wheeler
Smith, is running for the Democratic nomination for governor in '10. Alma is a
board member of Planned Parenthood's mid-Michigan branch.
